Composite doors

You may have heard about the all-new, all-dancing composite doors. But what are they?

com-pos-ite ~ adjective ~ (of a constructional material) made up of recognisable constituents: modern composite materials

What's the benefit of making something from many materials instead of just one? Combining materials means that the best material for the job can be used. For example, wood is strong and solid but is not the best material to be exposed to the weather...but PVCu is. Our composite doors have a GRP (glass reinforced plastic) outer layer on the inside and outside providing the maintenance free wood effect coloured finish with a highly effficient polyurethane inner-core providing thermal insulation and strength. You never need to paint your door again, just wipe clean with a damp cloth.

The frame is made from PVCu with steel reinforcing fitted inside. A low-threshold option is available for the bottom of the door to provide easy access for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Handles, knockers and letter-box are all colour matched (gold, chrome or black) to give a consistent look to your door.

Almost all of the door designs are available in seven colours.

Your door will be supplied with a high security multipoint lock and will be PAS24 and BS6375 approved with an option to upgrade to the police approved "Secured by Design" specification too. With the door being 44mm thick, you can be sure that it won't be barged down in a hurry!

So in summary, a composite door is a door that is made from many materials using the best suited material for the function it performs. It looks like wood, but isn't and has the benefit of a multipoint lock that traditional PVCu doors have. Remember also that they never need painting!

There are twenty two different styles of door to choose from.
